sigplus Image Gallery Plus

Description

sigplus Image Gallery Plus or (sigplus in short) is a straightforward way to add image galleries to an article with a simple syntax. The galleries exhibit the well-known lightbox effect: when a thumbnail is clicked, the corresponding image appears in a pop-up window overlay, without navigating away from the current page.

The plug-in implements features that are usually found only in image gallery Joomla plug-ins that are either commercial or require paid club membership. sigplus ships with all features included, there is no upgrade to a commercial professional version.

sigplus 1.5.x is out

boxplus: a lightweight pop-up window engine

Description

boxplus is an ultimate lightweight pop-up window implementation (commonly known as lightbox) that can show images, video and other multimedia content including custom HTML content. boxplus exhibits a high degree of personalization with features like thumbnail bar of images inside the lightbox for fast navigation between items, image captions supporting HTML, auto-fit content and auto-center as well as several themes mimicking various popular lightbox implementations. boxplus for Joomla adds a thin layer around boxplus client-side JavaScript code to expose its functionality in the Joomla framework. The boxplus engine is written entirely in plain JavaScript, it incurs no extra overhead and you should not expect script conflicts, which may arise with other plug-ins built on top of different JavaScript libraries.

boxplus for jQuery: a lightweight pop-up window engine

Description

boxplus is a lightweight pop-up window implementation (commonly known as lightbox) licensed under the GPL and written using the jQuery library. boxplus ships with sigplus, which is an all-inclusive image gallery for Joomla.

Features

  • Supports all modern browsers, including Firefox (≥ 2), Internet Explorer (≥ 7), Chrome and Opera.
  • Supports image captions. Each image can be assigned a title and a caption, which can make use of HTML tags.
  • Pop-up window centers vertically and horizontally. Vertical centering takes into account any caption text.
  • Various navigation controls. You can navigate to the next or previous image with the mouse or the keyboard, or use the thumbnail bar at the bottom to jump to any specific image.
  • Fit to browser window. Large images are automatically reduced to fit available browser window space. The pop-up window can be expanded with the enlarge control in the upper right corner to view the image in its original size.
  • Configurable layout. Panel containing captions and navigation icons can be aligned to bottom, right, top or left of image.
  • No dead time delay. The script launches as soon as the document structure is available, even if some images are still being downloaded.
  • Easily customizable appearance using valid CSS. All styling is done using cascading style sheet rules, which allows for simple theming.
  • Small network footprint. Even while boxplus has many extra features, its compressed size is comparable to Slimbox 2, which claims to be the smallest lightbox script available for the jQuery library (with a footprint of 4 KB).
  • Easy personalization. The boxplus demo page includes an interactive tool to customize boxplus appearance and behavior. Once you are satisfied with the result, you can use the code generator to produce the CSS and javascript code you need to make boxplus display the way you want.
  • 100% CSS and JavaScript. The implementation uses the jQuery base library and needs no additional jQuery plug-ins to work.

metaudio: Publish and manage audio files

metaudio

Description

metaudio (which is a contraction of metadata and audio) is a simple way to publish a folder with MP3 and MP4 (MPEG-4) music and audio recordings on a Joomla website. The extension extracts ID3v2.3 and Apple-style metadata from individual files, creates a listing featuring an audio player and showing the most important metadata (e.g. title, artist, album), and lets visitors view (and authenticated logged-in users edit) all other metadata. Supported metadata include title, artist, album, album artist, grouping, year, track and disk number, composer, comment, genre, tempo, encoder, copyright, JPEG or PNG cover art, description and lyrics. Metadata are cached in the database to improve performance and re-read automatically when files are updated either via the extension interface or the file system.

Goal

The primary goal of metaudio is to provide a non-commercial Joomla component that offers an intuitive yet versatile user interface to manage metadata of audio recordings. The current version supports viewing as well as editing Apple-style metadata in m4a (MPEG-4 audio) files and ID3v2.3 metadata in mp3 files but future versions will support additional container formats.
